Hi everyone,

I would like to tell you a little bit more about chlorella. It is a blue-green algae, similar to spirulina, that has been growing in popularity. In this blog post, I’ll explain what exactly it is, what its benefits are and how you might use it.

What Is It?
As said above, chlorella is an algae powder. It gets its green colour because it has high concentration of chlorophyll in it.  It is naturally rich in proteins, vitamins and minerals.

Benefits
Chlorella is high in protein, vitamin B12, vitamin A, zinc, iron, amino acids, phosphorus and magnesium. Studies have shown that chlorella benefits the entire body by supporting healthy hormonal function, promoting cardiovascular health, helping to negate the effects of chemotherapy and radiation, lowering blood pressure and cholesterol, and aiding in the detoxification of our bodies. Chlorella is detoxifying, supports the immune system, lowers your blood sugar and cholesterol. The reason chlorella is so effective at giving you younger looking skin is because it naturally increases levels of vitamin A, vitamin C and glutathione in your body, which eliminates free radicals and protects your cells.

How Do We Use It?
Chlorella can be taken in tablet form, mixed in smoothies, sprinkled onto porridges and can be mixed into face masks, as the picture shows. A chlorella face mask can be used to brighten your skin, reduce redness and inflammation and detoxifying your skin. It’s superfood, for your skin!

Have you ever tried chlorella? We’d love to hear about it!

Stay safe,

Suzie + Ellie
