Digestive Pineapple Smoothie

This super smoothie is not only very good for your digestion it also had great benefits for the skin and immune system. It may also help reduce acidity in the body because it is an alkalising drink, so try this to help soothe you inside, drink yourself healthy!

Pineapples had great health benefits are rich in antioxidant vitamin C which is thought to help boost collagen production in the skin, Potassium for a heathy heart, High fibre and water content so great to help keep a healthy gut. They have Manganese and Thiamin (Vitamin B1) that are antioxidant and help with energy production, this is why I find its best to eat or drink it in the mornings as they can make you feel more awake.

Fresh Basil has many benefits and it compliments the sweetness of the Pineapple its rich in vitamin K for blood clotting and healthy heart, Manganese that helps form connective tissue and the metabolic rate, Basil is also very good source of copper that helps the immune and also collagen production too, calcium for teeth & bones, iron helps oxygen move around the body, folate is a B vitamin that apparently helps us form DNA & other genetic material, omega-3 fatty acids that the body can only get from food. So its very worth adding it!

Root Ginger benefits of adding this are many, it is thought to have anti-inflammatory properties for the body, it helps digestion and can ease nausea, taken regularly it it thought to help ease muscle aches (after exercise), it may help lower blood sugars and cholesterol.

Aloe Vera Juice benefits health by helping heal from the inside out, its anti-inflammatory, soothing, cooling and moisturising internally so great to help you if you have eczema, rosacea or acne. Its packed with vitamins A, C, E, B1, B2, B3, B6, B12 and folic acid, minerals like calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, selenium and potassium. WOW!

Ingredients
• 3 slices of Pineapple
• 5 Basil leaves (approx.)
• Chunk of Ginger Root
• 50ml Aloe Vera Juice
• I tea spoon of solid coconut oil
(I used Biona raw coconut oil)
• 5 to 8 ice cubes
• 1/4 cup Chia seeds
• 100ml Mineral water
(or filtered tap)
Blast in Nutribullet and serve with a metal straw! I bought mine from the zero waste shop metal straws to help reduce plastics in the ocean.
